Fuller Mountain Preserve
A perfect spot for an easy, Sunday hike!
If you are looking for something nice and easy, then you should visit Fuller Mountain Preserve. This is truly a hidden-away-treasure…right above the New York – New Jersey border. Do not tell anyone I told you about it:-)
NORTH LOOP
Park your car here:-), turn around and cross the road to start your happy trail walk. I followed the orange blazes all the way to the top and came back down the green trail. The green trail connects at the bottom and the top sections of the orange trail forming a nice loop.
The climb up the Fuller Mountain is easy and you get to enjoy the preserve unquestionable beauty. You will admire flora, cross a charming Fuller Brook couple of times and be rewarded on the very top of the mountain too. A breathtaking vista awaits you on the summit. You can see for miles and miles from there! Completing the entire loop will not take more than an hour.

SOUTH LOOP
Should you wish to extend your visit and add some more steps to your tracker, then walking the south loop of the Fuller Mountain Preserve is a wonderful idea. Let the orange blazes guide you on this short excursion. If you are lucky you will be able to come across a grouping of cairns.They do not necessarily mark the way but they sure look very cool.
The path may be muddy at times, especially around the area where you will be crossing the brook. Therefore, wearing heavy duty hiking shoes is recommended. A trail will end on Bowen Road and just few yards away (to your left) you will find the parking lot.
NOTE: there is a limited number of parking spaces available and it will accommodate approximately 4 cars only.
