A perfect spot for an easy, Sunday walk!

Located in Bergen County, Ramapo Valley County Reservation offers its visitors a multitude of great features: views of Ramapo River, Scarlet Oak Pond and MacMillan Reservoir, great vistas, hiking trails, camping, and fishing (to name a few). You can enjoy this park in any Season: on an easy Sunday walk or on a longer, nearby hike. Dog owners love this location! And their pupils do as well!
Follow the path from the parking lot and cross over Ramapo River to enter the Reservation. For a shorter excursion, I recommend walking around the Scarlet Oak Pond. And since walking around a lake is always fun, you may also follow a path to reach MacMillan Reservoir. Another great walk to take pleasure in, will take you to the falls. It is a short walk away from the main promenade stretching by the Pond.
If you are in the vicinity of the Reservation, you can also visit the Continental Soldiers Park where you can complete a mile long circular walk around Lake Henry.
Ramapo Valley County Reservation and Continental Soldiers Park are both conveniently located off of Ramapo Valley Road in Mahwah.
